Some rooms have cramped areas for tea and coffee making with poor lighting, and the plumbing in certain spots could definitely use a modern touch. if you're used to contemporary comforts, the overall vibe leans more towards vintage, which could be a turn-off for some, given the shared bathrooms on the upper floor.

A decent option for a brief retreat in Ventnor with very good value for money. The breakfast was delicious, especially the freshly cooked traditional English spread. If you're looking for a cozy, characterful place, don't expect modern amenities.

The house has so much character, filled with fascinating artifacts and beautiful period furniture. I loved exploring the extensive gardens—they felt like a step back in time. It was nice to have a comfortable family room, complete with charming decor and plenty of books to read. Breakfast in the elegant dining hall was a highlight, with a delightful selection of fresh, locally sourced ingredients. I appreciated the warm and friendly service from the owners, who made us feel right at home. the lack of consistent WiFi was a bit frustrating, and the shared bathroom situation could be improved. The lighting was not great around the tea and coffee area in our room. Although the distance to the nearest bus stop is manageable, it can be challenging for those less fit, especially with the hilly terrain.

We had an amazing three nights at this charming place. The breakfast was unbeatable, and I loved the local ingredients used. The gardens were a perfect escape. Would return for sure!
